Ketamine Infusion Therapy
Sometimes the most effective path forward is also the least expected one. At Moving Forward Psychiatry, we offer ketamine infusion therapy for patients who have tried traditional treatments without finding lasting relief. It is one of the most promising developments in modern psychiatry, and we are proud to provide it in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment.
We know this may be unfamiliar territory. Here is everything you need to know about ketamine infusion therapy at Moving Forward Psychiatry.
-
Ketamine is an FDA-approved medication that, when administered in controlled clinical doses via IV infusion, has shown remarkable results for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and chronic pain. Unlike traditional antidepressants that can take weeks to work, many patients report significant improvement after just one to three sessions.
-
Ketamine infusion therapy may be a good fit if you have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or chronic pain and have not found adequate relief through medication or therapy alone. We conduct a thorough intake evaluation with every patient to determine whether infusion therapy is the right next step for your care.
-
Each infusion session takes place in a calm, private setting at our clinic. A provider monitors you throughout the entire session, which typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Most patients feel relaxed and report a gentle, dissociative experience. You will need a ride home afterward. Many patients begin a series of two to three sessions, spaced according to your provider's recommendation.
-
We take an integrative approach to mental health, which means ketamine therapy is never a standalone solution. We pair infusion sessions with ongoing psychiatric support to help you get the most out of your treatment and sustain your progress over time.
